The Doing Good Africa Leaders Meeting brought together passionate individuals and organizations to launch transformative Community Resilience Initiatives for 2025 and beyond.



This pivotal gathering underscored the critical role of volunteerism and community engagement in building resilient communities across Africa and globally.


Key Outcomes and Focus Areas:

Pillars of Community Resilience:



The meeting outlined the five foundational pillars essential to community resilience:

1. Physical Resilience:

Strengthening infrastructure and resources to withstand challenges.


2. Institutional Resilience:

Enhancing the capacity of organizations to respond effectively to community needs.


3. Environmental Resilience:

Promoting sustainable practices to protect and nurture ecosystems.


4. Economic Resilience:

Empowering communities with opportunities for financial stability and growth.


5. Social Resilience:

The cornerstone of the meeting, focusing on volunteering and leadership to build trust, social capital, and mutual support within communities.



Social Pillar Emphasis:

Leaders highlighted the transformative impact of volunteer work and leadership, emphasizing their role in fostering trust, strengthening networks, and enhancing community solidarity. Stories of ongoing efforts in The Gambia and across Africa were shared, showcasing the power of unity and collaboration.



Welcome to New Members:

The meeting celebrated the addition of new members from across Africa and beyond.

This expanded network will enhance collective efforts and strengthen the movement’s impact globally.



Responsible Activity Sharing:

Participants stressed the importance of transparent and ethical sharing of initiatives, ensuring that volunteer work is framed and recognized as a vital contribution to the greater good of community resilience.



Call to Action:

As we move into 2025, Doing Good Ambassadors call on all leaders, volunteers, students, and local community members to:



a. Engage actively in volunteer-driven projects that align with the pillars of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and resilience.



b. Foster collaborative leadership skills to strengthen networks of support and trust within rural communities.



c. Promote sustainable practices and innovative solutions to address pressing challenges.



d. Champion the recognition of volunteerism skills as a key driver of resilience and community transformation.



Together, through collective action and a shared commitment to good deeds, we can build resilient communities that thrive amidst challenges and create lasting impacts for generations to come.Join the Sports, Music, Art, Recreational Technology and Education Movement.
