fostering sustainable change and enhancing community resilience, helping our

OUR GOAL AS GOOD DEEDS DAY IS TO:

build strong, resilient communities through fostering empathy, trust and engagement by volunteering and Doing Good.


WE BUILD RESILIENT COMMUNITIES BY HELPING:


COMPASSIONATE GLOBAL CHANGEMAKERS WHO DESIRE LIVING IN A BETTER WORLD

TO TAKE IMPACTFUL ACTION BY PROVIDING TOOLS, INSPIRATION, AND A GLOBAL NETWORK BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY PERSON HAS THE POWER TO CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE, BIG OR SMALL, IN THEMSELVES, THEIR COMMUNITY, AND OUR WORLD.


Community Resilience: ​


A continuous process of community members adapting collectively to changes. This is demonstrated in their ability to take significant and deliberate action in order to deal with

the changes, in a positive way, that leads to an improvement in the quality of life.


Assumptions:​


• A joint effort of communities and community members, based on awareness and involvement, creates an infrastructure for creating a sense of belonging.

• Community infrastructure and ongoing responsibility

builds resilience in times of emergency.

The Social Component focuses on:


1. strengthening social capital, which enhances social cohesion and the ability to collaborate effectively.


2. This is reflected in an increased sense of belonging, the establishment of trust, and mutual support among community members.


3. By promoting inclusion and diversity, we can build and strengthen social capital, creating connections both within and between communities.


4. Building positive, capable and inspiring leadership.


Basic assumptions about the relationship between volunteering & Doing Good and community resilience, Contributes to creating relationships with people and other

communities. Increases sense of belonging. Increases the sense of responsibility

towards the whole and mutual trust.

Allows experience in diverse situations including crises


Allows introduction to a variety of other groups and communities
